Vendor and Subprocessor Disclosure

Via Nova Academy uses a limited set of third-party service providers to operate the service. These providers help us host the app, store data, send transactional email, support teacher-approved exports, and provide teacher/admin-only content-generation tools.
This disclosure is intended for teachers, schools, districts, and administrators reviewing Via Nova's vendor use. It should be read with the Privacy Policy, Student Data and FERPA Commitments, and Data Retention and Deletion Policy.
Summary
Via Nova does not sell student personal information. Via Nova does not use student personal information for targeted advertising. Student personally identifiable information is never sent to AI services.
For school-authorized use involving children under 13, Via Nova expects vendors to process child personal information only as needed to provide Via Nova, support authorized school workflows, secure the service, or meet legal and operational obligations. AI Processing Boundary
Via Nova uses AI only for teacher/admin content generation. Students do not directly access AI through Via Nova. AI requests must not include student names, emails, SIS IDs, scores, notes, quiz attempts, point events, behavioral telemetry, or any other student education-record data.

Export Boundary
Google Sheets exports are initiated by teachers. Via Nova supports export profiles intended to minimize data:
Teacher review: student names and scores, with minimized identifiers.SIS import: school-approved matching identifiers, such as SIS ID or student email when approved, plus required grade/score data.Summary only: aggregate class/team data only.
PII-bearing exports are audit logged by Via Nova.
Subprocessor Updates
Via Nova reviews vendor and subprocessor information periodically. Schools or districts that require notice of vendor changes should contact Via Nova at privacy@vianovaacademy.com.
